CloudFerro starts Gateway project
CloudFerro starts 28m EUR Gateway project to build the first national DataSpace for spatial data in response to the rapidly increasing data production in recent years.

EMERALD aims to develop an agile certification process, supporting Cloud Service Providers, Customers and Auditors in the certification process, and promoting the adoption of cloud services while ensuring that they are accessible, secure, and beneficial for all stakeholders. It is dedicated to transforming the landscape of cloud-based services, focusing on developing a new framework to improve security and efficiency for both Large and Small Medium Enterprises.
EMERALD will offer a framework to set-up, manage and monitor certifications and enable lean re-certification. Both auditors and auditees will enjoy a seamless user experience of continuous auditing as EMERALD will provide next-generation evidence gathering tools based on a knowledge graph approach. Assisted metric mapping will reduce complexity in multi-scheme Cloud certifications. Moreover, the project will also ensure interoperability to other frameworks, security assessment tools and repositories.
Within the project, CloudFerro is responsible for conducting a realistic use case (Pilot 2) of certification of public Cloud Services – IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) and PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service).
The EMERALD project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under Grant Agreement 101120688. It is planned for completion by 31st October 2026.
