CloudFerro starts 28m EUR Gateway project to build the first national DataSpace for spatial data in response to the rapidly increasing data production in recent years.
EO4UA gains momentum
The EO4UA i.e. Earth Observation for Ukraine initiative launched and coordinated by CloudFerro is gaining momentum.
Its primary goals are to provide cloud resources (i.e. on CREODIAS) to Ukrainian institutions and assess the environmental damage caused by military activities based on satellite data. The assumptions of the initiative were presented last week at the ESA Living Planet Symposium 2022 in Bonn, Germany. They were met with great interest from the conference participants. Some of them decided to join the initiative and support it with the outcomes of their analyses and processed data that would feed the EO4UA data repository.
At the moment, the initiative partners are:
- scientific institutions: Kyiv Polytechnic, European Union Research Center (JRC), University of Zurich, University of Wegeningen (ITC), Center of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw, Geomatics Center of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Forest Research Institute,
- companies: CloudFerro, Airbus, Vista, SatAgro.
